Random notes in the pauses between my information processing work, today about elections in Greece and hopefully more. |

Misunderstandings of the Greek ElectorateThis article should be translated to English. It is a concise analysis of what is at stake in Greece and in the euro debt crisis in general for Germany. Italian newspapers have been interviewing only people who don’t bother to formulate german positions, e.g. euro nationalists such as Joschka Fischer, Helmut Schmidt or Jens Weidmann, where the latter at least has been trying to provide a well-informed and intelligent synthesis of german and euro-nationbuilding interests in a way that was able to get a major part of the Italian europeist establishment onto his side. This explanation of why Greek voters could find the Radical Left attractive is just realistic, not radical. |
